They came from all over ...
Writers from all over were drawn to the Will Rogers Writers' Workshop March 15-17, 2007.
They gathered at the Renaissance Convention Center Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City to
learn more ways to improve and market their work.
The event featured a program of outstanding speakers and workshop leaders and was attended
by columnists, humor writers, editorialists, feature writers, authors of fiction and non-fiction,
freelance and self-syndicated, print media and online writers. Click on "What's New?" for details.
Books and authors dinner
Kem Rogers, a grandson of Will Rogers, was a special guest at a "Books and Authors Dinner"
at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Jesse Mullins, editor of the award-winning magazine, American Cowboy, was featured speaker
at the western-style dinner.
Workshop attendees not only sharpened their writing skills, they learned a new
language: Cherokee. They returned home March 18 knowing how to say o-si-yo
(meaning "hello") and a few other words spoken by this American Indian tribe.
Another great conference
The next Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop will be held April 3-5, 2008 at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.
Radio host and author Garrison Keillor will be a featured speaker.
Registration opens in September 2007. For more information, visit www.humorwriters.org.
